Hello! 👋

My legal name is Madeline, but I go by Maddie. I am currently a Training Specialist at the Children's Home Network in Clearwater, Florida. Before working with adult learning theory as a training specialist, I was an elementary school teacher for 7 years, and I have always had a passion for technology and the creative possibilities it holds. In 2018, I discovered the field of Instructional Design and instantly fell in love with it. It combines my passion for creating learning with technology and my experience as an educator into a world where possibilities are only getting better year after year. I decided that I wanted to make that career change, so I enrolled at the University of South Florida and received my Master's Degree in Instructional Design and Technology with a focus on E-Learning.

 Learning should be engaging, meaningful, and accessible to everyone. I create learning experiences where everyone is involved throughout, and it keeps them thinking and learning as it advances. By being aware of the gaps in knowledge, I am able to develop and design a training program designed specifically for the learners. In my experience, teamwork and communication of these knowledge gaps from managers and supervisors has helped aid in training being a success.

I believe in working with a company where there is no "glass ceiling". If someone has the desire to learn and grow and has the drive to take on the challenge, they should be given that opportunity. I believe in the "work smarter, not harder" motto, and as a well-organized person, I know how to manage my day to get everything accomplished. 

Outside of work, you can find me watching college and professional football, taking my dogs to the dog park, or getting creative in my craftroom. I once had a t-shirt business right as COVID was in full swing. I also love going to Disney when I have the time. As a Florida native, I believe that it is a must to either love the beach or love going to Disney, so I chose Disney. I live very close to my family and my fiancé's family, so we spend a lot of time together. I love learning new things, and I am not afraid to make mistakes, as I believe mistakes are always a learning opportunity.
